MWR hosted the Grand Opening of NAVSTA Rota’s new Library, Friday, February 26th.
The ceremony began with Naval Station Rota's Captain Bill Mosk thanking and congratulating all participants that made the new building's opening a success. Captain Mosk then introduced Retired Navy Seabee Gaspar “Gus” Dowling, whom was involved in the building of the original MWR Library in 1959. Gus was stationed in Rota from 1959-1961and worked with the Public Works and Maintenance Seabee Unit at the time building many of the buildings that are now being replaced by more modern constructions.
